About Our Host

Our Host: Amy Kinser

I am first and foremost a child of God. I am honored and humbled to wear the title of wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. All of these titles are gifts from God. Along with the before mentioned roles in my life, I am also a southern girl who loves from where she came. I was born into a family who loves history and rescuing things from the past. We see beauty in things others see as unbeautiful. I come from a long line of farmers and cattlemen. The women in my life have been strong, determined women who never minded a hard day’s work and never minded getting their hands dirty. I am proud and thankful for my heritage, as they all helped mold me into the woman I am today.  I am a stylist, treasure hunter, and lover of all things chippy, wooden, white, and vintage. In my lifetime, I will continually seek to "do all things as unto Him."

Our Name: Barn Door Trading Co.

I have to share how we came up with the name Barn Door Trading Co. Long story short…My mother’s daddy, my Pa, was a cattle trader for many years until his death. My uncle Mike worked alongside him for many of those years and still continues in the cattle business. Through these years, they have been on the same farm with the same barn...a barn that I remember since I was a little bitty girl watching my Pa pull on his barn boots and walk out to. This is the same barn that I now love to climb into the loft and hunt for any treasures that might be buried there. And, that door…that simple, wooden, charming, full  of character barn door. It has nothing grand about it, yet speaks volumes to this girl’s heart. Lastly, I have to mention that the name Barn Door Trading Co., does not mean Barn Door Trading Company. It means Barn Door Trading Community because that’s what I want this journey to be about…community.

Our Vision: To Seek His Vision

“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”. That is my vision. That is my goal. It’s as simple as that. Let me add…If you choose to shop with us, I want it to be a joy filled experience from start to finish. I want you to feel welcome. I want you to feel special. I want you to find that “something special” that you can’t live without. My desire is for you to leave our sale feeling like you have made a new friend.

About Our Vendors

Farmhouse Dreams ABK by Amy Kinser

I’m a southern girl born and raised in Tennessee. I am a believer that you can find beauty in anything and anyone and because of that I love to find discarded items and turn them into something lovely. My dream is to live in an old farmhouse someday, but until then, I will turn our traditional home into my own kind of farmhouse.

Iron + Pearl by Cristi Bouldin

My mission is to grow a business that supports a flexible lifestyle for working moms. A workplace that aims to allow moms to have fun while they work together, creating a community, a mom tribe. I am working to grow a ministry through the business that supports local organizations such as Freedom Reigns Ranch in Thompson's Station, Tn, where their mission is to empower and heal emotional and physical scars of our troubled youth through the work of Christ and horses.  To do all of this,  I make fragrant candles and products for your home to add a layer of comfort in your sanctuary.

Heather J Pottery by Heather Johnson

I'm Heather Johnson and I'm obsessed with clay. I found my passion in college when I took a ceramics class on a whim. I soon realized the Lord was directing me towards a beautiful ministry that symbolizes the Potter's great care and attention for the work of His hands.

Blue Monarch with Deanna and Kate

Blue Monarch is a completely free, long-term, residential, therapeutic Christian community for women and children to recover from abuse and addiction. It is the mission of Blue Monarch to help our residents break destructive cycles and rebuild their families. Out of the Blue Granola is produced by the residents of our program as a means to give back to their community while learning valuable work ethics and gaining employment history. Our granola is all hand baked with local wildflower honey and all proceeds support women and children in recovery. Kate and Deanna recognize the power of prayer and we invite you to join us in praying for and supporting our recovery community!

Funky Farmgirl by Rachel Williams

I love things that tell a story and have a history.  That's why I choose Tennessee barn wood which has aged at least 150 years to make my art.  Something once disregarded and forgotten has been given a new life for my customers to enjoy.  Watching someone choose one of my pieces because it "speaks to them," is one of the most rewarding experiences an artist can have.  Come to our marketplace and see what may speak to you!
